Texas Hill Country

Hill Country is one of my favorite places on the planet and incorporates everything from whimsical small towns to magical swimming holes, from magnificent rivers to a national historic site, from fantastic wildflowers to some of the absolute best food on the planet. And there are some terrific roads to explore there which we will do on this picturesque 2 day trip.
Friday Start
On Friday make your way to Kerrville, our starting point where we will meet in the evening and enjoy a dinner at our hotel for the trip.
Saturday
We head out Saturday and head west into the heart of the hills that make Hill Country what it is, driving through Hunt and on south to Leakey. Once a few miles out of town the roads start with undulating curves through the hilly terrain making for a great drive.
We will stop late morning for lunch at a popular driving enthusiasts restaurant just west of Leakey Texas.
We leave and head into the heart of the Twisted Sisters route, famed for it’s twisty roads through the hills and largely empty of meaningful traffic.
We do the full loop down to Camp Woods and up through Rocksprings before returning through Leakey again and back to our home base in Kerrville where we stop for the night and have a nicely planned meal at our hotel.
Sunday
Sunday starts with a route back through the heart of Hill Country to Austin, ending up home mid day.
